the holidays are offically over.

but man,

did we have a great time.

hosted christmas eve family hoopla,

got and love our new family member franklin,

donated christmas to a family in need,

celebrated 5 wonderful years with my husband,

watched leah make a chocolate cake with fondant *beautiful*

partied it up horton style for new years,

and today,

went to the gym.

what did you do for the holidays?

last weekend

for easter we went to the hubbys families second home. its about 25 miles south of the macinac bridge. absolutely beautiful stone home built in the 1920's. its on a bit of land that was previously used by the late grandparents as big gardens, vegetables mostly. there is a horse stable across the street, and a few of the horses wander next to the home in a big apple tree filled pasture. there is also lake access, and a bar right next door. nice.

we went up with the 2 smallest of our litter having pink eye, which translates to no sleep for mommy. our oldest ended up getting an ear infection on saturday, of course while the house filled with food and the in-laws 30 closest friends for an annual gathering. so off we go for a quick visit to the hospital, and a 2 hour ordeal to get her prescription filled. yikes. my parents then joined us at the house and bar, spent the night and spent easter morning with us. it was nice to have all the kids grandparents together searching the house for bunny gifts.

all and all we had a nice weekend. i am glad its over though.

family, viewing, funeral, lunches, dinners, birthdays, drinks, hugs, tears, long car rides, and the usual diapers.
by the way, i have the best family anyone could ever ask for.

today was leahs first day back to school in a week. she had a nice little code yellow lock down at her school today. lovely. i am glad that they all handled the situation so well. scott is still off of work until wednesday. we have had a nice time all last week together as a family. its really fun having scott home for dinner and helping around the house and helping with the kids. scotts brother was in town this weekend to visit with grandpa, who isnt doing so well. good to visit with him.

my breads are seeming to get better and better every time. ive been baking about 2-4 loaves a week. mostly honey wheat. its just so darn yummy toasted with butter.
