dear blog,

i really havent forgotten about you. i have just been busy. i sware. and my camera is acting up.
so, everything is pretty much the same around here. leah still has the bestest pouty lips ever, and the attitude to match. charleigh is still obsessed with discovery kids, scary shows and all. mary is still wearing pretty princess dresses all day, begging for compliments as she twirls. and jax? well hes sorta starting to talk. never on command though. and yeah he twirls in princess dresses whenever he has the chance too. lol. scott is still a work-a-haulik, at work and at home. still as hairy as ever. just a bit thinner. 44lbs thinner. jager had a friend over this week. briggs. the kids call him bricks. me? i recently became a pure romance rep. its cool, all kinda gizmos and gadgets, lotions and stuff.
sincerely,
eryn

crunch!

so today...
i loaded the car with kids, put the car in reverse, when a huge hornet came in the passenger side window straight at me. so i opened my door; as it was coming straight for me i got out. (mind you i\the car was still in my driveway next to my house\front porch). so when i opened my door and got out, the car rolled backwards toward the street ... Read Morecatching my door in the rungs of my front porch, tearing and crunching the door backwards. doing so also caught the faucet for the hose ripping that off. so water is spraying out like crazy, and my yukon is rolling toward the street. i lose my flip flops and run back to my car full of kids, swing my leg into the rolling car and slam on the brake.
so my door is broken.
not totally, but enough to pay a $500 deductible, and not opening more than 8 inches or so.
bummer.
*no kids or hornets were hurt in this ordeal*

gardening by the pool

spent most of the day digging, chopping,
weeding, planting, watering,
sprinkling seeds,
and just plain old getting dirty.
im thinking everything will die
from the kids splashing chlorine all over.
i know all my plants look frumpy and sad,
but in a few days i think theyll perk up.
oh well, i had fun!
good day!

shrinky-dinks

last night my kids had friends over. we made shrinky-dinks. remember them? i loved them as a kid.

1. you color with sharpies on a piece of #6 plastic.
2.throw them on a cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil.
3. bake them for 1-5 minutes (wait until theyre small and flat) at 275 degrees.
4. voila! a shrunken art masterpiece.

i think you can buy this special clear plastic at arts and craft stores, but we use ours from recycled plastic containers, like strawberry containers and food carry out boxes. just make sure that it is the #6 plastic. if you and your little ones have any questions, drop me a line. ill help answer anything i can.

here is a picture of the kids peering into the oven watching the magic at work.

day one...

hello everyone out in the land of blog. ive been considering starting a blog for quite a while now, and finally, ive done it. thus far it isnt so difficult. so i guess ill start by saying, im married with children, 3 girls and a boy. my know-it-all 3rd grader leah, my 3 year old princess-in-training charleigh, my silly-willy almost 2 year old mary, and oh-so-sweet BITING 8 month old boy jax. i stay home with them while my husband works (lots of over-time too). i was a hair stylist for a few years before #4 came along.
my mom always tells me how creative i am (as moms do). hopefully this blog will help open up some creative doors for me, and possibly relieve a bit of stress. well, here goes... wish me luck on my new adventure.
