boston

were back and all survived.

i can say that im really glad to be home, i was really starting to miss my yard, bed, diet, and routine. we did all kinds of really awesome stuff. swam in the ocean, saw the uss constitution, saw the 1 if by land and 2 if by sea church, walked the freedom trail, ate lots of great food, went on the subway, went on boat rides, went to the aquarium, played in fountains, went to fenway park, saw the mayflower and plymouth rock, drank a cold sam adams across the street from a cold sam adams, saw the cheers bar, played on the make way for ducks, all while pushing strollers for miles. the reason for the trip was scotts brothers wedding. absolutely beautiful. the church was huge, old and HOT. the reception was at the omni parker house on the top floor ballroom. quite exquisite! the drive home was over 13 hours. and yes it was with all 4 kids in the truck.

we really had a great time thanks to barb, jack, chris and lindsay. thank you all!

and welcome to the fam lindsay!!!!!...although youve been around about three times longer than me.

i like a lot of things.

really i do.
clothes shopping is not one of my likes.
actually i hate it.
well, i have a fancy wedding to go to this summer in boston. my hubbys older brother is finally marrying his long time girlfriend. its an evening wedding. bottom line, i need a new dress.
last night my shopaholic cousin sara took me to lohmans. i tried on about 20 dresses when i found the perfect dress. its a $175 dress, i got it for $23. yes $23 thats not a typo and it is including tax. it does need to be hemmed, dry cleaned and pressed. perfect. done. or so i thought.
sara then drug me to the mall to try on about 200 shirts and 30 pair of jeans from the limited (clothing store). apparently i NEED new clothes for this week long trip. apparently my holy jeans and old shirts arent good enough. ok fine. so i let her buy me 2 new shirts. they are very nice. one is black and one is purple. and they were both marked down to about $10 each. not too bad i guess. i was able to talk her out of buying me new jeans. i will go to this resale shop soon to buy a new pair. i promise. fancy shoes and pants.
p.s. i still love you sara beth!

few things to mention

my cousin sara is in town from oregon. i cant begin to tell you how exited i am to be hanging out with her. she and i are pretty darn close. she was my coach when i gave birth to leah almost 9 years ago. we were each others maids of honor. my kids just adore her. the hubby does too. sara came over for breakfast this morning and we feasted on scrambled eggs with cheese, onion and red pepper, new york bagels with butter and cream cheese, and banana bread from this recipe. yummy.

today is really cold. -4 degrees. in fact, leah has no school today, or monday (mlk day). so yeah, 4 day weekend! we are hosting a family party here on sunday in honor of sara being in town. hopefully it will be a little bit warmer for the people traveling to my house. i cant wait to see everybody else. i hope they can all make it.
scotts brother chris, and my soon to be sister in-law lindsay, have set the date for their wedding. we will be traveling there, all six of us in the car, to boston. i cant wait. we had a road trip last november for a wedding and everything went so well. this time we should be spending about a week of vacation there. thank goodness for the dvd player in the car and leahs personal dvd player that attaches to the seat in front of her. we could never travel without them.
scott and chad have been working on their side business. dwell tek. snow blowing, yard cleanup, landscape design, home improvement etc... their website is up, and here it is. check it out.
