gardening by the pool

spent most of the day digging, chopping,
weeding, planting, watering,
sprinkling seeds,
and just plain old getting dirty.
im thinking everything will die
from the kids splashing chlorine all over.
i know all my plants look frumpy and sad,
but in a few days i think theyll perk up.
oh well, i had fun!
good day!

At least you can still garden, even if they die! I had to give up my plot in the Community Garden this summer, I seriously have NO time to get there when it's not Mosquito Heaven. :-(

The process is always the most deeply rich experience. In this case, however, with plants, the end result and having them grace our presence and environment seems equally important. They look like the right type: tropical for that place, but I wonder if you could spray them with something to keep them impervious to chlorine. About the dining room chairs: I keep picturing each one a different color, starting with that rich green that would match your wall in there. Or: you could paint them the same color, then add those all different color stripes going around the spindles of the backs and legs. Either way, it would be bright and pretty! Love you.
