lysol and laundry

christmas was a hit. lots of gifts, parties and food. fun was had by all! i was pleasantly surprised by the hubby, a wedding anniversary gift. the children had pajama parties else where. yup a night with each other. we went out to dinner with a good friend and her family. separated from them and played pool at a new local pool hall\bar, then hit up a dance bar, then came home to a quiet house. what an awesome night! meanwhile leah got the flu at my moms house. charleigh and jax now have it. lots of laundry, baths and lysol. i almost feel that im being punished for ditching them. they are getting back at my by vomiting in my hair, and on the new princess comforter. oh well, life goes on. new years will be quiet this year, the hubby is working. maybe leah can have a friend spend the night. we will see. i get my car back on wednesday. yeah! my good friend has been generous enough to lend me her van while mine is on the fritz. charleigh loves the van much better. she wants to trade. time to check on the hubby. hes in the garage. his favorite place to be on his day off. i dont blame him.

my christmas wish list

the kids christmas presents are done. bought, wrapped, and tucked away at an undisclosed location. i think the hubby and i did quite well shopping this year. we didnt overspend (yet). and we didnt spoil the kids rotten. we will leave that up to the aunt, uncle and grandparents. they are very good at it. and much appreciated.

i dont consider myself a consumer. i very rarely shop for other than necessities. so here is a smallish list of my christmas wants...rather than need. moonlight path body lotion by bath and body works. wonderful scent, awesome for winter hands. i have only a smidgen left from last christmas. a steam mop. it steams and sanitizes hardwood and other sealed flooring. four kids and a dog. need i say more. a camera. we had a camera similar to this one pictured. it came up missing this october. i really need one. i think it will have to wail until my birthday though. i dont have any garden ornaments besides flowers and plants. everybody needs a feisty little gnome tucked away in the garden. and a buddha to bring a bit of zen. i found this purse\bag on etsy and immediately fell in love with it. i havent owned a new purse since the late 90s. kinda silly i know. its about time .

snow day

#1. leah won. she got the snow day. no school again until after the new year. i do believe there is about two feet of snow piled up all over everything. #2. charleigh is now sarcastic. she says things like "thanks a lot" and "yeah right mom". oh how precious 3 year olds are. #3. mary is in the midst of self potty training. she takes off diapers all day long. sometimes pee actually gets into the potty. today she missed. #4. jax is a mad baby. fever+drool+boogers+tears=new teeth? i sure hope so. #5. scott is off with his bff shoveling and snow blowing, earning some extra cash on his day off. good thing. tonight is poker and pizza night.

here i am sitting at the computer, clutching a steamy cup of coffee. by coffee i mean half coffee and half flavored cream. mary is stirring it for me, she is being oh so very careful, warning me that it is hot when i go for a sip. these are a few things i need to get through my day. since the hubby doesnt like the heat past 65 degrees. is he green? nope just cheap.

tis the season

ive never been a big fan of winter. not michigan winter. as i type its snowing, 2-4 inches they estimate. leah is praying for 2 feet so there will be a snow day tomorrow. fine by me. i really despise bundling up the tribe to pick her up from school. it really takes f o r e v e r. mary is constantly unzipping her jacket. its her new trick. as soon as jax gets in his car seat he screams bloody murder. he is fine once i put on his hat. he proceeds taking it off, again and again, laughing. fun game. charleigh is getting super independent. she demands putting her jacket on herself. that normally would be fine if she didnt put it on upside down 75% of the time. she has to take it off herself and reapply 2 more times until she gets it right. any of my help would be very unhelpful. were ready to get in the car. the front door is open, car seat in arm, keys in hand. 3 little coats, 3 little hats, 5 mittens (whatever i dont have time). until charleigh has to go potty. great. close door, put down jax, instruct mary to leave her zipper up, take charleigh potty. after we emerge from the bathroom you can only imagine where marys zipper goes, her other mitten goes, and, oh yeah jaxs hat.
bad day you ask? nope. just a day in the life of...

day one...

hello everyone out in the land of blog. ive been considering starting a blog for quite a while now, and finally, ive done it. thus far it isnt so difficult. so i guess ill start by saying, im married with children, 3 girls and a boy. my know-it-all 3rd grader leah, my 3 year old princess-in-training charleigh, my silly-willy almost 2 year old mary, and oh-so-sweet BITING 8 month old boy jax. i stay home with them while my husband works (lots of over-time too). i was a hair stylist for a few years before #4 came along.
my mom always tells me how creative i am (as moms do). hopefully this blog will help open up some creative doors for me, and possibly relieve a bit of stress. well, here goes... wish me luck on my new adventure.
