chair vs. bench

so we have these really ugly black cloth covered dining room chairs. 6 of em. they are covered in kid slop. katsup, milk, boogers, you name it. around christmas time we bought really pretty fabric chair covers, they were on sale. they are really really tight on our disgusting chairs, so tight that they are ripping open at all the seams. bottom line, we need new chairs.
i found these at ikea. i think they might be too small. what i really want is a mix-match if all different antique chairs. garage sales, garbage pickins, where ever i can get em, cheap. scott on the other hand wants to make 2 benches, one on each side of the table and 2 chairs for the head of the table. pretty bad idea in my book.

#2. im sure the kids will get slivers if wood in their butts
#3. no backing=kids with concussions
#4. who wants to play poker sitting super close to their opponent?
#5. hell be in the garage forever making and staining them
so whatever i guess, i am just the maid anyway...

lettuce

today i put some lettuce in the ground. this year ive decided to make it kinda landscapy by integrating it into my front yard. well see. pictures to follow once i get a new camera. maybe well go to a pawn shop this weekend. any advise on a good\cheap camera?

last weekend

for easter we went to the hubbys families second home. its about 25 miles south of the macinac bridge. absolutely beautiful stone home built in the 1920's. its on a bit of land that was previously used by the late grandparents as big gardens, vegetables mostly. there is a horse stable across the street, and a few of the horses wander next to the home in a big apple tree filled pasture. there is also lake access, and a bar right next door. nice.

we went up with the 2 smallest of our litter having pink eye, which translates to no sleep for mommy. our oldest ended up getting an ear infection on saturday, of course while the house filled with food and the in-laws 30 closest friends for an annual gathering. so off we go for a quick visit to the hospital, and a 2 hour ordeal to get her prescription filled. yikes. my parents then joined us at the house and bar, spent the night and spent easter morning with us. it was nice to have all the kids grandparents together searching the house for bunny gifts.

all and all we had a nice weekend. i am glad its over though.

im just sitting here, 2:30 in the afternoon on a cool sunday.

drinking a cup of coffee.

the 2 sick babies are up in bed sleeping and coughing.

bread is in the last stage of rising before being shipped off into the oven.

my hands smell so good. like bread.

barb, leah and i bought the 3 girls dresses for uncle chris and aunt lindsays wedding. all matching. uber cute i must say.

the sweet peas and zucchini are starting to grow in their homemade greenhouses. id take a pic...but i cant...

i am making chicken noodle soup from scratch tonight for dinner. my grandmothers recipe.

lots of plants in the flower garden are growing beautifully! cant wait to show you!

bad month for eryn

my camera is officially broken.

we bought it at best buy over 3 years ago while i was in labor with charleigh. (yes labor)

its been good to us, up until i dropped it 2 days ago.

broken. kaput.

im having a bad month.

broken camera,

doubled phone bill,

broken cell phone screen,

trying to quit smoking.

now the babies are sick. grrr.

maybe tomorrow i will blog about happy junk.

probably not.

no school

leah will be outta school up until april 14th for spring break!!!
we have one sleepover planned, and are going outta town for the holiday.
other than that im at a loss. maybe the zoo?
any suggestions?

i lost this exact neclace. (top photo) i loved it. scottt won it for me from this website. well, its gone and i need a new one. there are a few that im keeping my eye on. (3rd photo from top is my fav.)they are on etsy.

we did a little spring clean up in the backyard today.

made a prince crown, princess crown and a wreath.

picture will follow once i find the camera.

pot the pond filter in today too.

hopefully well have non-green water soon.

last year i planted a few lettuce plants in some boxes hanging off my back porch.

really pretty. not so yummy.

too bitter i think.

a friend told me that a lot of sun exposure causes bitter lettuce.

this year i think ill plant some heads under a tree in my front yard. hopefully it will turn out half as pretty as these.

thus far

i have wiped 2 noses 23 times each,
i have dug up several clumps of tulip bulbs, separated and replanted,
i have pulled climbing baby off steps 4 times,
i have cleaned the bathroom,
i have cleaned out the fish tank,
i have chewed 3 pieces of nicorette gum,
i have put 2 dragon tales on demand shows on,
i have started 2 loaves of bread,
i have separated 2 kid fights...make that 3.
i have unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher once,
i have changed 1 poopy butt...i smell another,
i have planted seeds of sweet pea,
i have sent the hubby off to work.
its not even 1pm.
im pooped.

the name game

leah and charleigh have a fish tank in their bedroom. it is a smallish tank with pink rocks at the bottom. it sits on top of charleighs dresser. the light on the tank is used as the girls night light.

charleigh named the creatures that live in the under water oasis. snailey is the snail, swimmey is the fish, and sucky is the sucker\algae eater fish. charleigh is quite creative in naming her friends.

often she lines up her baby dolls. all in a row, half naked, covered with blankets. all snuggled up. their names are just about always, rudy, tootie, boobie, rudy (again) and noodle. thought id just throw that out there.

hello, i am eryn and i am an addict.

this may be the reason that i havent posted a blog in a few days. my world has been flipped upside down and inside out. i quit smoking.

i started when i was about 17, driving a friend to school. i would smoke one of her cigarettes in the morning. got hooked. just like that. that was 12 years ago. i have smoked as much as a pack a day, or as less as 3 cigarettes a day. im addicted to nicotine, well caffeine too, (but thats another story).

i need to be healthier. i cant jog because i cant breathe when i try. i dont have the money for healthier organic groceries. how can i tell my kids not to smoke when i do. (what a hypocrite).

my first day was extremely hard. i cried almost all day. it really felt like my bestest friend in the whole world had died. as silly as it sounds, its true. day two was even worse.

today is clean day #5. yeah me! scott and i bought the nicorette gum last week at costco. i think its somewhat doing the trick. i really really want to be nicotine free. ive gotta say this is one of the hardest decisions i have ever made. everybody has been really supportive. my mom even bought me a new house plant with an encouraging note, and a lottery ticket. im not saying that i wont screw up. but i am really giving it a go. this is my first time ever trying to quit.

not to be cliche, but i really wanna see my future grandkids.
